Ready to level up accuracy, but all your programs are FANUC?

We can fix that.

Although new to the U.S. market, Seibu has a very long history. Their high precision wire EDMs are 100% made in Japan, and Seibu is the only EDM manufacturer guaranteeing a pitch accuracy down to +/- 1 micron.

Seibu created the world's first CNC Wire EDM in 1972, and have continued improving the technology ever since. They hold multiple patents that are used by a majority of Wire EDM manufacturers, such as core stitch and automatic wire feeding technologies. Seibu machines target the high-end precision market and those who require a quality machine designed to last and produce consistent results for 25+ years.

A 21.5" FANUC control that feels like a smartphone

Machine Tool Preventative MaintenanceSeibu wire EDMs boast one of the largest FANUC controls on the market, coming in at a whopping 21.5" and complete with SmartNC features and a user interface akin to operating a smartphone.

The SmartNC on Seibu's controls are genuinely intuitive, and uses graphics and a multi-touch panel that provide that smartphone feel along with an HMI containing new screens and even an assist feature.

But what about all my FANUC programs?

A common complaint when upgrading to a Seibu Wire EDM machine is that all your programs are already set up for your old FANUC machines. You think you'll need to spend all this time and effort in order to manually modify the program, which can lead to adjustment errors or input mistakes.

However, Seibu now offers a Program Conversion Function. This function will take simple FANUC programs and automatically convert them to Seibu programs based on the registered conversion rules. This way, program prep time and editing errors are significantly reduced.

See image of Program Conversion Function screen above.

What are the limitations?

The Program Conversion Function is ideal for simple 3-axis Wire EDM programs from FANUC, specifically. Programs from other manufacturers can also be converted, but they could use different program structures, requiring edits to the registered conversion rules. Even with FANUC programs, additional verification is required for special programs such as 4-axis.

Don't let your existing FANUC programs stop you from leveling up your Wire EDM game. The Seibu machines are world renowned for accuracy and are the perfect EDM machines to take your parts and reputation to the next level.
