Preventative Maintenance

JBM Technologies, Inc. is pleased to introduce to you a "Preventative Maintenance Program" designed specifically for today's Machining and Turning Centers.

It has been our experience that most machine down time is a direct result of inadequate maintenance. We would like to help you minimize your machine down time by suggesting our Preventative Maintenance Program. This program is tailored to finding, fixing and resolving problems before they start. We make every effort to restore the machine to it's original factory specifications.

Enclosed is a copy of our routine Preventative Maintenance schedule. Our engineer will check item by item and perform routine maintenance for you in a timely manner. The preventative maintenance performed takes approximately six hours. Proper maintenance of your machine will help you to avoid costly machine down time.

All machine tool manufacturers recommend preventative maintenance on their machines at least two times per year. JBM Technologies is the only "Factory Authorized" Kitamura, Hwacheon, Ikegai, Tornos, Fuji and Leadwell dealer in the area. We service CNC machine tools with Full Factory Support. JBM will however, set up, initiate and perform a "PM" program on most CNC machine tools.

HEAD STOCK:
  • Drain and replace spindle oil (if applicable)
  • Clean magnetic dust pickup
  • Check belt tension (if applicable)
  • Lubricate or grease counter balance bearing and chain (if applicable)
  • Clean spindle fan
  • Check draw bar tool, knock out clearance.
  • Check spindle orientation
  • Tram spindle to table top (if area is available)

TOOL CHANGER:
  • Lubricate or grease tool magazine chain
  • Lubricate or grease tool magazine cam on high speed mechanism
  • Check tool change timing (adjust)
  • Grease or lubricate slide mechanism (where applicable)

X, Y & Z AXIS:
  • Stone table and level machine (if areas is available)
  • Remove covers and check way area for proper lubrication of slides
  • Check way wipers
  • Check way cover wiper lips
  • Check and replace oil restrictors (as needed)
  • Check and replace way lube lines (as needed)
  • Check backlash X, Y and Z
  • Check thrust bearings (push/pull test)
  • Lubricate/clean and check all soft and hard over travel switches + and - directions.
  • Check and adjust gibs as needed (push/pull test)

HYDRAULICS:
  • Drain and replace oil (Oil supplied by customer)
  • Clean or replace filter
  • Check primary and secondary hydraulic pressure
  • Check and inspect all hydraulic hose and fittings for leaks

ELECTRICS:
  • Check incoming voltage: 220, 100 and 24 volt circuits
  • Trip all circuit breakers in electrical cabinet
  • Check for lose screws on terminal strips
  • Check fans in all cabinets
  • Replace/clean fan filters
  • Check lights and switches on control *Advise customer if needed
    (Bulbs and switches not included in PM program)

PNEUMATICS & MISC.:
  • Check incoming air pressure
  • Check incoming filter: clean or replace as needed
